Alone

Going a week and a half without seeing one of my children, is SO hard for us. They are both home again, and about 2 hours into being reunited again, they are fighting again. Oh joys of motherhood. Haha. I really missed my daughter though, and it was really far too long without seeing her. Now my son may be going away for a couple of days to visit his family in Idaho. Lord give us strength. I don't know any families personally that have to deal with blended families to the degree that we do. It's very hard. I honestly don't like handing my son over to another person for a weekend, or my step-daughter.

Sometimes I really need to hear from other people that they understand what we go through every day, because man, it's tough sometimes.

Sometimes we feel very alone, and the only people we can really relate to, are my husband's parents. They went through very a similar situation in their second marriages, and understand our frustration and hurt.

Awesome

Cole: "Mom, you know who is the coolest boy ever?"
Me: "No, who?"
Cole: "The boy who is talking right now.."

We're driving back into town (which is coyly nicknamed "Awesometown" and now has stickers and websites about it EVERYWHERE)

Casey: (reading a sign) "Welcome to Awesometown!!"
Cole: "This town is NOT awesome!"

Forgiveness

Asking a toddler to obey you is very similar to the Lord asking you to follow him. When you ask a toddler to (we'll say, pick up his truck off the floor and put it in the toybox) that is a fairly simple and direct instruction. If the little boy does not do that, he will get a consequence (in my house at least). It's the same way with Jesus. He's asking us to simply accept him, take him into your heart, and let him guide you. Accept him as your Savior, and if you don't, then you go to Hell. Excuse me for being so bold, but those are my personal beliefs. As far as I'm concerned that is all it takes for you to be saved, and go to Heaven to spend eternity with Jesus. How simple is that?

The crazy thing I often think about it, who wouldn't want that?? Who wouldn't want a close, personal relationship with Jesus. A man, who was actually a MAN (flesh and blood, people) who died, FOR YOU!!! Each one of us was on his mind while he hung on that cross and suffered for each and every single sin we would commit. Also, who wouldn't want to spend eternity with that same guy, for the simple fact that he did such a selfless thing??

Here's another thing, I think it's amazing, that "they" and when I say they I mean God and Jesus, have made it so easy to get to Heaven, that all you have to do is honestly accept Jesus into your heart as your Savior. Believe that He died on the cross for your sins, and wholeheartedly believe. I think that is just so simple.. yet sometimes I wonder why it is the hardest step for people to make.

Now, I'm not trying to dilute anything here, the point I'm trying to make is that, I feel like our Lord is telling us to just ask him for forgiveness. He'll say yes!! That's the glorious thing about it, He will always forgive. Even on your worst day when you feel like you have shamed Him, and you could not possibly begin to tell him what's on your heart, He will open up His arms and forgive His child.

Have you ever known anyone to tell you, "Hey, I'm going to forgive you. Just ask me!" I haven't, normally I'm so stubborn, I wait for the other person to say sorry first, and then I cave in eventually and it's a mutual sob fest.

But Jesus is not that way, He is loving, merciful, and forgiving. He wants a relationship with all of His children.

Basically, I think at the end of the day, the thing I cherish most about my relationship with the Lord, is that he is a forgiving God, and will never turn His back on me. That is something so special.

Today..is a sicky day

So, Momma is not feeling too well today, and when hubs was leaving for work this morning, he told both the kids to be extra good for me because I'm sick, and to help me in any way they can.

So they prayed for me. Before they ate their breakfast, they prayed that I would feel better and for my "helf." Little Coley told me he would behave and start listening to me, and Maddie was sweet as a peach and did everything I asked her to do the first time (well maybe 2nd).

We did kind of bribe them by saying that if they behaved and were good for me until Daddy/Casey came home, we would take them to Jamba Juice later, and right now that's a treat for me too, because I would love a vitamin C boost in my smoothie!! Although, I may just get a Peanut Butter Moo'd. YUMM.

Remembering Dreams

Me: "I had a dream that we had our own beach house, a big pretty one right on the sand!" (Oohs and ahhs)

Maddie: "I had a dream that my (stuffed) dog Magenta was magical and her eyes opened and she sat there like this, and she moved her paws.
Cole: "I had a dream that my friend Brandon had an ear infection."

oh the things they say at 7 o'clock on a Sunday morning.

From now on..

I'm going to use this blog as a way to remember the cute little moments in my children's lives, while they are still so young (and cute.)

The things they say, and do, and the way they express themselves cracks us up. I don't ever want to forget them! SO I figure, what's a better way than to write it all down on a website!? (haha) Hopefully I'll put it into a book someday, but for now this is the most convenient way for me in this fast paced world.

For today, I can't remember anything extraordinarily cute, they were cute as always, but as far as like "I NEED TO WRITE THIS DOWN!" I really didn't have any of those moments...

Possibly because I worked from 6am-2pm, and then came home and napped from 3-5. Ate dinner, and went shopping. So, busy day! I'm a tired momma. Thank the Lord for my hubby who let me sleep, cause I haven't been feeling very well. Very tired, and a sore throat is kicking my butt today. Hope I'll be feeling better soon. I have my future sister-in-law's bridal shower tomorrow, so I need to be in tip top shape!

Busy and sick

Please excuse me for not posting lately, although I'm sure I've hardley been missed. I thought my blog needed a little sprucing up, and my niece, introduced me to an awesome photo editing website that I now ADORE! It's www.picnik.com. I feel so out of the loop for not knowing about it. It's awesome because you don't have to sign up to edit your pictures, you just plop a picture on there, and go at it. It's fun. So yea, that's what I've been up to. That and working.

Speaking of working, I have the next three days off, but normally that changes, and I end up going in on one of them. I've been feeling a tickle in my throat since last night and so today I really felt sick at work. So now I'm home relaxing and am going to spend the next couple of days hopefully recovering. Thankfully my hubsy is making me one of my favorite dinners tonight, Porcupine Meatballs! Yum!!

Ta Ta for now..
